Hi all,
will the 2.0 beta1 have a different splash image than the current trunk does? If yes and if there's still not any photo chosen for that, I managed to get a photo today, nothing special, but I think it's not that bad for a splash screen, see here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mck182/5235185858/ so this could be used, I'd be honored to provide an image for digiKam's splashscreen ;)
Also, did we remove the solution for full digiKam closing from 2.0 branch? Because there are some other problems connected with that - for example, you are unable to unmount your removeable media, which are used by digiKam, because the process is still running and therefore it won't allow you to unmount.

Ahh, fixed now :) Also, I have one idea for kipi-plugins. Since now even the KSnapshot has the capability to use kipi-plugins for export, I was thinking about creating a kipi-plugin for http://imagebin.ca service, it's a simple-fast-image-share service, something like pastebin, but for images. But this would be unusable for more than one image. But for the purposes of exporting through KSnapshot it's more than great.
Use case: You need to take a screenshot and share it fast with someone on IRC for example. You run KSnapshot, do the screenshot and then just export to imagebin and paste the returned link back to IRC or IM.
What do you think Gilles? Would this got accepted to kipi-plugins? Marty _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

There is a Plasmoid which can upload to some of these services as well, you may want to have a look at the code. (My "workflow" is to take the screenshot with ksnapshot, drag the thumbnail displayed there, press the short cut for Plasma Dashboard, and drop it on the plasmoid. it works!) _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

Ok, will take a look. By the way, there seems to be one very similar plugin created primarily for the KSnapshot as well, but for screenshots.debian.net, so it seems like more people are having these ideas with KSnapshot :) --> http://www.elpauer.org/?p=536
