Some CR2 unfiltered as "non-RAW files only"

This might have happened in the past, but I don't remember what was the proposed solution: I have a couple of RAW pictures that are not recognized as such when filtered; the image properties (dimensions and such) are displayed as 'unknown' in the right panel.
How can I make them recognize again by Digikam?

No. I still haven't begun to use this feature; is it reliable in 2.5? (I had big problems with 'lost' pictures in previous versions)

I didn't find it the Fedora repository so I got it from the redhat repo and didn't pay attention to the version number. Will look for the right one.

I downloaded the src rpm for F17 from here:

http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=1593

at the time it was for the 2.6 rc version, and rebuilt the rpm for F16
myself. Takes a while to build, but I've built bigger packages.

I now have F17 installed, and have installed the non-rc rpm from the
same link. One day they'll get round to putting it in the
fedora-updates repo :)

There is not that much difference, but it's fairly nice once you have
done so. F17 supports system-wide color management, which is good for a
photographer.

If you choose to do it via the preupgrade route I would advise reading
the F17 common bugs page carefully, there are some gotchas and one that
got me has now been fixed but hadn't made it into the workarounds
section when I upgraded.

Startup behavior DK 2.5 on SuSE 12.1

I am running Digikam Version 2.5.0 Using KDE Development Platform 4.8.4 (4.8.4) "release 513"

Suse YAST reports version 2.5.0-146.3; I am running Suse 12.1_x86_64

In Digikam Settings I have the Main View set to Sort by Name and in Descending Order.

When Digikam starts up, the Main View is sorted by Name, but in Ascending order.
Clicking View-Image Sorting Order Shows Descending selected.
Clicking on Descending closes the menu and the window now sorts as I want (Descending).

This is a relatively new issue - it used to work but just noticed having to resort after several SuSE and Digikam updates.

Starting Digikam from CLI does not reveal any unusual messages.

Any suggestions?

I'm sorry for the delay, I don't have a lot of time to work on this at the moment.

I am currently implementing forced uninstall of previous installs and am updating the installer/uninstaller to notify the user of programs accessing files in the install location so that the install will always be successful and uninstall will no longer require a reboot. I have implemented all of this and am now testing that it all works properly with various versions of the digiKam installer. I hope to have everything finished in the next day or two.
