Slideshow in DK 5.5 dysfunctional on openSUSE Leap 42.2

Robert Zeller

Dear community,

I am using digikam 5.5.0 (Version 5.5.0-172.5-x86_64); KDE Frameworks 5.26.0, Qt 5.6.1 on openSUSE Leap 42.2. as distributed from repo: build.opensuse.org/KDE:Extra and kipi-plugins same version. (NOT the appimage!)

When starting slideshow only the first image is shown for 6 seconds, while at the same time the slideshow counter is moving forward with a frequency of less than a second, subsequent images are being skipped. This does not happen with the older version DK 5.2. under the same operational environment. Looks like something is wrong with the integration of DK 5.5 or kpi-plugins into the KDE-system.

Best regards,

Robert

2nd attempt: response to the email list:

I have exactly the same problem as Robert, but I cannot remember the
slide show has ever been working since digikam 5.x.

For me, the slide show is not working with large png files (ca. 100MB
each). For other file types (NEF raw or jpeg files that are smaller) the
slide show works as expected.

I am using digikam 5.5.0 from the Manjaro linux distribution.

I would love to help you but I never use Slideshow.
Perhaps reporting the bug in Bugzilla would be the best option.
