Slides about digiKam

Gilles Caulier-2
Hi all,

Here you can found an OpenOffice slides about digiKam that i have make during
an English working session in my office :

http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/Documents/Présentation_digiKam.sxi

The file size is 5.5Mb. The document is in English and free for use. If you
have some remarks about, let's me hear.

Regards

Gilles Caulier

for some obscure reason, clicking on the link didn't work,
but deleting the file name allowed me to access the folder;

there are others documents on this folder, if you don't mean
to share them, may be you should fix the server
configuration :-)

This is because of the letter "é".
I also had the problem, but luckily I have this character in my language :)
But maybe for the others it would be good to rename the file.

Gilles: is it possible to have this presentation in PPT online? I would like to
show it to some of my photographer friends to convince them why it is good to
use Linux :) (but in this file format they cannot open it)

It could be a good reason to install OppenOffice.org.... ;-)

Better, perhaps Gilles can generate a PDF file ?

You can do it yourself in openoffice. Just click "save as..." and choose the
M$ ppt format...

Gilles, I hope you agree, (otherwise delete)
I just put your presentation back to the ftp site without é
http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/Documents/Presentation_digiKam.sxi
and I allowed myself to do a few English correction. I used OOo 2.0 and the
document is shrunk to 1.5 MB.

No others document can be displayed too...

There is a final computer science report subject (I'm a studiant to CNAM in
Aix en Provence). My subject is to make a management photo program in open
source... Its talking about... digiKam of course.

About this point i need to do a big paper about my job in digiKam project. I
will be done this summer.

The abstract of my report is here :

http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/Documents/Agrement_Sujet_Memoire_Gilles_Caulier.pdf

It's in French...

Done

Gerhard

P.S. My new web I/F for photo presentation is finished on the Aian part using
gallery2. I finally decided that it was nice and flexible to use, allows
slide shows for the visitor and comments, rating, all blows and wistles. (

Look nice.

This is you ? :

http://gerhardk.ath.cx/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=834

I love the image properties on the right. This is exactly what i need for this
entry in B.K.O :

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121367

Something can be done to make a more intuitive view using icons like Reveal
does :

http://kde-apps.org/content/preview.php?preview=1&id=30685&file1=30685-1.jpg&file2=&file3=&name=Reveal

Your viewpoints ?

Re: Slides about digiKam

Bugzilla from dudasg@freemail.hu
Hello,

Handling of 16 bit images through plugins is possible. However I cannot
open 16-bit TIFF files (I get a big black picture). But I think this
would be very useful, since it is very good to use digikam for post
processing after converting a RAW to a 16 bit TIFF (yes, to be honest I
am using an external RAW converter).
The RAW converter can also save to 8 bit TIFF (and this can be opened by
digikam), but of course this contains much less information, and its not
really usable for a quality post-processing.

Any plan to support 16bit TFF files?

Thanks!
Regards,
Gábor

No problem!
Please find it here:
http://amigos.amiga.hu/dudeeg/digikam_tiff/IMG_4224-01.tif

Naturally, this is a resized output from the RAW converter (the full
size would be 44 Mb), but resizing was done inside the RAW converter
(RawShooter).
I am using 0.9-svn.
Let me know if you have the same problem!

Thanks,

Gabor
