Setting date/time of multiple images?

Milan Zamazal
Is it possible to set date of all selected images at once in the user
interface of digikam 0.9?  It's tedious to set exposure date for all my
scanned images individually.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Milan,

You can do it, but not _yet_ directly using Comments & Tags sidebar on the
right of album view. There is a wish in B.K.O about to set multiple pictures
at the same time using this way to set comments, rating, date, and tags.

The current solution is to use the kipi-plugins 0.1.3-beta1 or from svn trunk:

http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=16061

... and especially the AdjustTime plugin where i have improved the available
options:

note : for batch comments, i have added a new tool for that :

There is also a GPS editor using Google maps :

...and an advanced Metadata Editor witch support Exif and IPTC :

Thanks, Gilles, it works and is useful!

Does it support any lossless 48-bit color image format?

In all case, Image-data isn't meta-data. When you change metadata in picture
you untouch image data. metadata are store in a separate area on file.

digiKam and kipi-plugins use Exiv2 library to handle EXIF and IPTC metadata.
Actually Exiv2 can only write metadata into JPEG file.

Andreas Huggel, the Exiv2 author currently working on TIFF writting mode. Me,
i'm working on PNG wirtting mode. Both support 48 bit color image.

About RAW, The Exiv2 library use a generic TIFF file parser. All major RAW
file are based on TIFF format. Normally it will be possible to update tiff
tag with metadata in RAW file, but like RAW picture format are proprietary,
we need to perform advanced tests for that.

Also, I have added in svn trunk a native JPEG2000 codec in digiKam witch
support 48 bits color. I will study the metadata stuff with JPEG2000 (witch
support EXIF and IPTC too)
