Scanned thumbnails not rotated

I've fixed my scanner issue and managed to scan a batch of sketches. Some of them need to be rotated, and that works fine for the normal size picture, but the thumbnails keep their original orientation whatever I do.

How can I solve this? Is there a problem with the EXIF for pictures issued from a scanner.

Yes, certainly no Exif is embeded in scanned files.

I understand this. But the question is what shall I do in order to have both tnumbnails and big picture displayed in the same manner.

I seem to have found the trick, that is not intuitive, for me at least:

 - don't use the rotation buttons, as they rotate only the big picture, and not the thumbnails

 - use the Image - Adjust EXIF orientation, but only once, as the re-selection of the option already selected seems to make things go wrong.

By the way, I upgraded to 4.2.0 a couple of hours ago.
