Hello,
I want to make a slideshow of about 200 pictures out of over 13000 pictures contained in at least 4 different albums. The order in which I present images is important. Given the amount of work involved in the selection and ordering of the pictures, it's clear that I won't be able to do this in just one evening. The Advanced slideshow does offer ordering and the ability to add pictures from different albums, but I found no way to save the slideshow. Furthermore, the interface is not too convenient. Why do I have to select files when the main DK window presents a nice logical view? Is there way achieve what I wan to do? Hello Samuel,
never worked with slideshows before, but perhaps my findings can help you in some way. You can export a slideshow by Extras -> Export to Video Slide Show. There you can choose the pictures to be shown, set effects and so on. Using the video settings you can specify type and file name of the video and afterwards can export it by pressing "Convert". The advanced slideshow seems indeed to be for display only. Would be cool to export this to a video file, I agree... To further improve your workflow easier you should choose you 200 pictures in the main DK window instead within the slideshow window: - search for the pictures and mark them, e.g. by a color or flag filter or by giving them a tag - you can then filter your Database for your desired (marked) pictures - Ctrl+A to choose them - "Extras -> Export to Video Slide Show" will put only the chosen ones to the slideshow - change the order, effects and so on and then convert them to a video For me that worked fine with a little Ogg test video with 50 pictures from 7 different albums. Hope that helped a bit. Hello Den,
Thank you for the information. I am running DK 3.1.0 on Archlinux, but I can not find the "Extras". Checked that all the kipi-plugins are indeed active, and yet, I can not find "Extras" or "Export to Video Slide Show". Where can it be found? Is it possible that this is a compile time option? Hi Samual, Here, in DK 3.1.0, it is under 'Tools>Export to Video Slide Show'.

The menu entry "Export to Video Slide Show" isn't translated to German, so at least this should be the same in the english version of DK ;-) @Digikam Developers: can anyone give me a hint how to contribute to the DK and Kipi translation? Tried to understand the KDE Localization page, but failed at a first glance... You should contact the i18n/l10n group for your language. Looks like there's even some traffic on their mailinglist (https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-i18n-de), so I think the easiest way would be to ask from them or locate their homepage somehow. -- Best Regards, Teemu Rytilahti _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
