Safe to write to DNG files?

ozzyprv

How safe and reliable is to write metadata into DNG files?
It seems to me that when I try to to this (for example writing a tag) to a big number (80) of selected DNG files DigiKam crashes.

Comments?

Thank you.

Which digiKam version you use ? I recommand 1.5.0 (as kipi-plugins too)

metadata are written to file using Exiv2 library. Which version you
use ? I recommand 0.20.0

Any, if crash occurs, we need a gdb backtrace to hack :

Re: Safe to write to DNG files?

DigiKam info
Qt: 4.7.0
KDE Development platform: 4.5.1
digiKam: 1.5.0

Exiv2 info
exiv2 0.19

Two more question:
Q1 How do I install the gbd backtrace? I read the information from the link you gave me, but it is not no clear to me what to do.
I installed digiKam from ppa:philip5/extra
I am running digiKam on Ubuntu 10.10

Q2: What is your recommendation to upograde from exiv2 0.19 to 0.20?
