Running the software

Rhys Sage
Hi,

I'm interested in running digital image software. I've
not managed to find a lot out about digikam though.

Can I:
1. sharpen
2. load Canon RAW or JPEG images from a CF card (via a
USB reader), filing them in a series of
program-created date-ordered folders (Like Canon Zoom
Browser)
3. Edit RAW and JPEG images, saving as JPEG
4. copy, paste, magic wand
5. Modify white balance and other image settings.
Basically, I want to do what the Canon software will
do and some of what Photoshop Elements will do.

Now the biggie... I have a 64-bit Compaq v2570nr
laptop. Which O/S should I use? I tried several live
CDs and a lot just failed to work.

Is DigiKam available on any Live CD? I'd like to try
the photo facilities before i commit myself.

I think digikam is available in most live cd because it is part of kde.

Did you checked that your live cds were 64 bit versions ?

Cheers.
