Reverse Geo Tag error and Google maps not working in Digikam

Henk van den Berg
When I performed a search in Geo-location I am getting the following error : the process for the http://ws.geonames.org protocol died unexpectedly.

Google Maps does not seem to work either… no map is showing when I select the Google Maps option

Anyone that can help address these issues.

I am using digikam 4.13 Mac.

Regards,
Henk

Re: Reverse Geo Tag error and Google maps not working in Digikam

Philip Johnsson
I think there have been changes to the google maps api or service and the old code for digikam 4.x would need updates in this feature to make it work again. Google maps work in the new Digikam 5 and I don't know if any of the developers have interest in fixing this kind of problem in an old version of Digikam. Digikam would need to be recompiled with updated (patched) code for it to work again. Other maps than google maps should still work in Digikam 4.x though.

Regards,

Philip
