Rename widget layout

Bugzilla from andi.clemens@gmx.net
Hi,

I'm still not happy with the layout of the rename widget.
Since it is used in many places, it should be as compact as possible, but
still easy and quick to use.
Especially in the import dialog this is very important, since space is
limited.

I have added a compact layout to the widget that is used only in the import
dialog for now:

The old design still exists:

The problem is that having two layout is not very consistent.
Actually I would go with the compact layout now (in BQM and rename dialog as
well), but what do you think?

Any other suggestions? Or mockups?

Andi

Re: Rename widget layout

Gilles Caulier-4
I like the sapce used with new layout.

But why not to reduce button columns from 3 to 2. This will reduce
width as well and can be enough ?

Re: Rename widget layout

Bugzilla from andi.clemens@gmx.net
The second design is the old one :-)
The columns are dynamic, so when the widget has more space, more columns are
created (try resizing the RenameDialog or the splitter in BQM).

The new design is the first link, but this looks weird in the rename dialog.
Actually I don't want to have two different layouts, this is confusing for
users.

Maybe someone has a good mockup?
Right now I will commit it the way it is, with the compact version in Import
and the normal layout in BQM and AlbumUI.
