Rename on download

Yan Seiner
Is there any way to rename files on download?  I have a camera that
produces .mod files, which, AFAICT, are plain AVI containter files - maybe
there are some differences but both avidemux and kdenlive treat them like
.avi files.

I'd like to rename these .mod files to .avi on download.

Is this possible?

Afraid not. There is option to add suffix to filename in download dialog
but it will only add string to end of main part of filename (file.mod ->
file.avi.mod).

You can configure digiKam/KDE to treat them as avi files so why to
change name?

There's apparently a bug in kdenlive which prevents me from using .mod
files.... It treats them as snapshots, not movies....  :-(

So I'm trying to find a workaround.
