Removing frame for grouped pictures

tosca
Hi everybody,

In a recent update appeared a new 'thing': a kind of pictures-stack frame that is added to all grouped pictures.
Is there a way to remove this frame? As almost my pictures are grouped, this frame doesn't add anything, except it reduces the size of thumbnails and make them less visible.
I've looked in Digikam settings, but didn't find anything related to this new concept.

Thanks for your answers.

Hi Mari Noelle,

1/ The thumbnails size is unchanged.
2/ There is not yet a settings for this feature. The goal is to improve the visibility of grouped items from icon view.

This have been a long talk in bugzilla here :

Re: Removing frame for grouped pictures

Hi Gilles,

Thank you for your answer.

As I said, almost all my pictures are grouped, as I put in the same group the original RAW and the post-treated resulting TIFF (exported from Darktable); I sometimes have additionnal JPEGs.
As it is, I don't need anything specific to identifiy grouped items: I simply use the filter to show/hide RAWs/non-RAWs/TIFFs pictures.

Thumbnails size might have not been changed, but IMO they are much less 'readable' due to the rather complex border. See here for example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mk8ed3xm6kofadz/20170825_digiKam_003.png?dl=0

I hope you'll be able to set it up as an option, or find some less intrusive solution.
Thanks a lot,
Marie-Noëlle

Ok,

Add an option for group icon-view frame will be not too much difficult to do. Please report this wish in bugzilla, on digikam/Albums-Group section. We will take a look about in 3 weeks, at Randa event, where we must review the usability of application.

Thanks in advance
