Refreshing just a few thumbnails

Andrew Goodbody
Is there any way to get digikam to refresh just a few thumbnails?

I have just imported my photo collection and it has scanned all the
thumbnails into the db. However some of them contained thumbnails in the
exif data that were not correctly rotated. So I want to fix the rotation
of the thumbnails and then get digikam to refresh just those photos that
I have updated as rebuilding the entire thumbnail db will take several
hours.

Thanks,
Andrew

Are the contained thumbnails correctly rotated now?
If that was done, the file would have changed; and if the modification date
changed, the thumbnail will be regenerated. To force this, "touch" the files.

Yes.

I touched the file and nothing happened. I quit digikam, then touched
the file and restarted digikam. Still no change in the orientation of
the thumbnail.

To add to the mystery before I rotated the embedded thumbnail in the
file it was showing in one orientation that I will call top/left. The
correct orientation is top/right. The thumbnail shown by digikam is
bottom/right ie 180 degrees away from the original embedded thumbnail. I
am beginning to think that this is about the orientation flags and not
about the actual embedded thumbnail.
