it took me this long to get time to build the kipi plugins
and in the process had to get and build digikam 0.9.4. i had to by trial and error figure out the right libraries. BATCH->CONVERT does make a group of DNG files into JPGs, but it also rescales them down hugely. the originals are 3920x2638 (10.34Mpx) but the resulting jpgs are 320x240 (0.8MPx). i don't see how to set a no-resize option, or at least a higher res. thanks, -rei ----- Forwarded message from Rei Shinozuka <[hidden email]> ----- To: digiKam - Digital Photo Management for the masses <[hidden email]> Subject: Re: [Digikam-users] batching dng to jpg conversions Reply-To: digiKam - Digital Photo Management for the masses <[hidden email]> Date: Sun, 7 Sep 2008 21:02:01 -0400 From: Rei Shinozuka <[hidden email]> > > > But it already exist thrue Batch Raw converter kipi plugin ! > > > > > > http://www.digikam.org/drupal/node/344 > > > > > > DNG to jpeg is possible without problem... i'd love to give it a try but i don't know how to get the plugin. the above link goes to a screenshot but no source tarball or anything. at the risk of being naive, how do i get raw converter? can i use it with my digikam (0.9.3)? thanks, -rei -- Rei Shinozuka [hidden email] Ridgewood, New Jersey _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users ----- End forwarded message ----- -- Rei Shinozuka [hidden email] Ridgewood, New Jersey _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Batch convert use ImageMagick in background
Converting DNG to JPEG, IM will interpret DNG as TIFF file, no more, because it use libtiff... DNG is a TIFF/EP file format, using a reduced version of image (thumbnail) in first image TIFF data set. The real image is in second one... To process DNG to JPG conversion in batch, use Batch RAW converter.
