In fact, you should have been active there all along if you're interested. Unless you have a well-developed proposal already which has been uploaded to the GSoC webapp, it's very late to begin, since the deadline to upload the Final is the 9th of this month. However, we did get a few good proposals just yesterday, so anything is possible! Guides are available, certainly, starting with https://community.kde.org/GSoC/2019 and the links there. The requirements are there as well. It is expected that prospective students will do basic research and not wait to be personally guided to go through the necessary steps. Of course students help one another here on this list, and there is #kde-soc where that happens, some mentors are there to help, and me. Valorie
