Re: Digikam-users - serious bug found -

Martin Kaspar

dear digikam experts

i noticed a funny & fancy thing  - i cannot (!!!) view files & folders on the suse-linux. this is really a serious thing - is it a bug or a feature.

to begin with the beginning:

i run digiKam version 3.5 on opensuse 13.1

i wonder if i can see images that are not (!!) in a album!?

Why am i not able to do so?

all i can see are images that are associated to an album;

why cant i open images in the document root of my opensuse version 13.1?

if i try to open an Album with the dolphin - i get back the result:

Cannot open the root. It is not a physical location.

WHY IS THIS SO!? Digikam version 3.5: Cannot open the root. It is not a physical location.

If you have Kipi-plugins installed, there's a plugin that lets you upload a
selection of images to Facebook (and there are plugins in many other
directions as well, email among them).

The plugin can be found under Export, if it is turned on. Once the kipi-
plugins are installed, you can turn them on and of in the configuration
(somewhere at the bottom of the list of configuration categories). I don't
recall what the default is, on my computer it's turned off, on my wifes it's
turned on. Opening a Facebook account is a bit of a hassle, as Facebook
refreshes the authentication page with half a second. Easiest is to get the
requested address from your browsers cache after that.

Best regards,

Boudewijn Kranendonk
