Sorry that it took me some time to answer, but I've been on a business trip.

However, for the *nef for example I defined the file associations UFRaw, GIMP, Rawstudio and F-Spot within the kcontrol->KDE components->File associations.

But the conext menu in digikam provides me showfoto, Krita and KSquirrel. The same with *.dng. Even *.xcf does not provide me GIMP.
