I have no problem waiting for the next version and perhaps I can work around the problem now that I know what causes it. However, my immediate problem is 'How can I get Digikam to run again?' As mentioned previously, I tried deleting Digikam, and all the "digikam" files I could find, then re-installing it but the new installation would not open using the digikam defaults. It still wanted to get files from the NAS. Obviously there is a legacy file somewhere that is causing digikam to go off and attempt to search the NAS. Do you know how I can restore Digikam to its defaults so I can use it on local files on by Ubuntu box? Sorry to be such a pest.
