digiKAm code to import categories set by ACDSee. Is there an option in ACDESee to store metadata in sidecar file?
Maybe this one could be compatible to DigiKam. Other solution is to write a script for ExifTools that extracts needed data from pictures. Heikki I was thinking that Exiftool can extract all metadata to a file in Windows and then you could import it with Digikam - but then again I only have a few hundred jpg's.
