Raw Highlight reconstruct make for fuzzy dark images

Paul Waldo
Hi all,

I finally have my 16-bit Raw image conversion to the point I can deal with
them.  Gerhard was kind enough to send me a profile that works with me Rebel.

One thing I noticed though: if I use "Highlights: Solid White", I get a decent
image.  If I use "Highlights: Reconstruct", the image is significantly darker
and the details are not as sharp.  Is this expected behavior?  Thanks in
advance for any insight!

Paul

In digiKam RAW decoding setup panel, Use SHIFT+F1 to show tips about settings. Look informations from Level value used with Rebuild Highlight mode.

All RAW settings come from dcraw program used internally by digiKam. google "dcraw" over the web to find more informations about algorithms used inside...
