The function defined in line coredbaccess.cpp:302 could be a cause for endless loops. Shouldn't it be removed?

This is not present in thumbsdbaccess.cpp and facedbaccess.cpp 'cause of the same reason.

You want mean if mysql Qt plugin is not available, the digiKam will start and endless show a dialog about the missing dependency, or something like that, until the rest of GUI is visible ?

I remember an entry in bugzilla about this problem...
