Greetings Everyone,
I have been given a job of organising a large collection of images and
some videos for a volunteer based organisation. At present, the images
in the collection number approx 90,000 and are accumulating at the rate
of between 600 to 1000 images a month.
I have been using a subset of some 25000 images for testing. As part of
the testing I need to add multiple tags to the images, which may involve
tagging from 2 to over 1000 images at a time.
Adding tags works OK, but of course there comes a time where I have
incorrectly added a tag and wish to remove it. Here, I have found a
problem.
If I select 250 images in an album, the right-click menu shows the item
'Remove Tag' and clicking on this removes the tags from the selected
images. But if I select 251 or more images, the 'Remove Tag' option is
greyed out, and I can't remove the tag from the selected images. So I
need to remove any unwanted tags in batches of 250 or less.
I have not found a reference to anything similar in the mail archives
etc, and I would be interested to know if anyone else has found this
problem.
I am running digikam 1.9 on Kubuntu 11.04, using a system with a 3GHz
Pentium 4 dual core, 1 Mb RAM and intel 945 onboard graphics. I have
downloaded and installed the ppa version of digikam 2 rc on a different
install of Kubuntu 11.04, and find the same problem.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Best Regards,
David Hatton.
