Problem with photos not recognised as not new

Having just upgraded my distro to Fedora 16 and digikam 2.3 today I
needed to download a few new photos from my phone which is mounted in
/media/uuid however when it then read the photos from the device it did
not recognise that the majority were NOT new. Is there some way I can
tell digikam that these photos are from this device and not from a new
device? The photos file names have not changed.
