Strange. Looks like "make install" cannot create directory
/opt/kde3/share/man

Try to do this by hand - as root. Also check if you have enough space in
/opt .

Are you sure that you are doing the make install as root?

If yes, this could also be a wrong path thing.  Please check which parts of
/opt/kde3/share/man
you already have ? By the way, we still don't know which distribution you use.

QFile::open: No file name specified - v0.9.5 beta2

Michael Tettinger
Hi!

I compiled v0.9.5 beta2 and it is working fine. But I have a little problem:

Starting "showfoto" and calling any filter (or kipi-plugin) on a
selected and displayed foto, I get the message "QFile::open: No file
name specified" at the console. From this time, the message is repeated
twice each second until I exit showfoto. Any idea?

My system:

suse 10.3
Linux mte2 2.6.22.17-0.1-default #1 SMP 2008/02/10 20:01:04 UTC i686
i686 i386 GNU/Linux
KDE-Version:  3.5.7 "release 72.11"
kipi-plugins-0.1.7

Mike

Generally path should be correct. Newest crop of distributions are
putting KDE3 programs in /opt branch (true at least for openSUSE and
Mandriva).

But not all distributions do so... I'm using Kubuntu and /opt ist simply empty. Thats why i'm asking for the distribution. Takes a lot of guesswork out of the troubleshooting

Jepp, the make install is allways used at root ;-)

I've just told you my system at the end of my initial mail, perhaps I wrote it
not exactly enough ...

OSS 11.0 means OpenSuSE 11.0 ;-)

The path /opt/kde3/share/man is existing, with a folder man1 in it...

Now I tried it out again (only make install as root), and, what a wonder, it's
running ?! There was no change at my system, only offtime over night, no
updates etc...

So at least the problem is solved without any working, but I will send
my "thank you" to everybody who tried to helping

Bye, Christoph
