Playing audio without changing focus

Jonathan Ryshpan
I have about 500 photos from a recent trip.  Each photo has an
associated audio file, which is a brief comment about the picture.
I want to type the content of the file into the comments field of the
picture.  There's no problem playing the file by clicking on it.

Unfortunately, this changes the Digikam's focus to the audio file.
Before entering the comment, I have to click the view icon, and then
click the image to change the focus back.  By this time, if the comment
is long, I have forgotten part of it, and I have to repeat the process.

Is there any way to play an audio file **without** changing Digikam's
focus?

Thanks - jon

I'm not sure what you mean - can't you just load all the audio files into,
say, amaroK, and then control them with global shortcuts (next/previous
track, seek forward/backward, pause) without losing the focus from digiKam?

Regards,
Paweł

Too complicated for really common feature of digital cameras. Digikam
should have better support for playing of audio comments. This is
probably task for KDE4 and Phonon - such simple thing should not depend
on external plugin.

OK, you're right. I forgot that some cameras have that functionality and
thought that what Jonathan was talking about was some rare scenario.

I surmise from Mikolaj and Paweł's comments that there's no easy way to
get there from here.
