Hello,
I am using Digikam for a long time. The count of pictures reaches 9500 now. I tried to import pictures from an external device. During this operation everything stopps. Question: Is there a limit for the pictures in Digikam Database? Thx in advance Frank _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Not that I'm aware of; my collection has 34372 images,
totaling 46.2GB Cheers Sveinn í Felli Oppau Info - Frank Müller - Technik wrote: > Hello, > I am using Digikam for a long time. > The count of pictures reaches 9500 now. > > I tried to import pictures from an external device. > During this operation everything stopps. > > Question: Is there a limit for the pictures in Digikam Database? > > Thx in advance > Frank > _______________________________________________ > Digikam-users mailing list > [hidden email] > https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Thx Sveinn í Felli
Markus wrote he has 15.000+ and you have 34+ So the reason has to be in my system. Thx to you all Frank Sveinn í Felli (IMAP) schrieb: > Not that I'm aware of; my collection has 34372 images, > totaling 46.2GB > > Cheers > > Sveinn í Felli _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

We have no limit from the digikam side, but SQLite might run out of
performance at some collection size. I have a testcollection with randomly generated images (mostly fractals) to test some issues with digikam. This collection has 120.000 images in it and digikam still runs smooth. Only algorithms that operate over the whole collection are not usable with this collection size (like find duplicates), but SQLite and digikam itself still run very smooth. There might be a limit, but this depends heavily on your hardware. But this is true for every software out there...
