Hey everybody!
I think I remember that some weeks ago, when I saved an image in PGF, disabled lossless and put the quality slider to 9, i.e. lowest quality, the picture was only a few hundred kb big. Now when I save such a picture it is at least 1,5 MB big, even if it only has two mega pixel. Does my memory trick me or is there some regression which disables lossy saving? If one saves a JPG to PGF, the size is small, i.e. ~100kb for a 10 MPx image. However if one demosaics a RAW picture, crops it to only 2 MPx and saves it as lossy low quality PGF it still has 1,5 MB, i.e. 15 times as big as saving from JPG although it only has 1/5 of the size. Is this a bug? Sven _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

RAW = > 16 bits / color /pixel image ! Is this a bug? no. It's normal. Try this : load JPEG in editor and save it as PGF. Look size. reload JPEG in editor and switch color depth to 16 bits (Colors Menu). Now save it as PGF. Lokk size...

Yep, that works. One day I'll get that bpp and bits thing with pictures. :) Thanks!
