On-the-fly face recognition?

Does digiKam have some form of on-the-fly face recognition, sort of Like Picasa had or Facebook has now?  If so, how is it activated?  Thanks.

The feature is under développement through the face recognition project done while this summer to integrate AI engine for face processing. The code is not yet integrated in main devel branch, but it’s planed for next 6.0.0 release.

Great news! Thanks!

I've been trying to work with the face recognition module. It managed
to recognize some faces and after manually approving / teaching-it
extensively and re-running the scan-and-detect feature, it doesn't
seem to be picking up more results.

Looking forward to v6.0.0.

The 6.0.0 source code will be prepared after 5.8.0 release that we currently finalize and stabilize due to changes done with Mysql support.

As usual we will post 6.0.0 pre releases bundles with new face AI engine for testing. Stay tuned...
