On RAM and processing speed

Paul Verizzo
Actually, not so much about RAM but a reminder for some dK users:
Laptop hard drives are WAY slower than desktop in moving data in and
out, for a number of reasons I won't go into.  Having a hyper-speed CPU
in a laptop is driving your Ferrari only in your driveway.  (You DO have
a Ferrari, don't you?)  Couple a slow hard drive with limited RAM and
you can be assured of slow processing in any data intensive operation.

You are completely right, but as far as I am concerned, I am in the
lucky circumstance of having an esata connection on my laptop, 5400 rpm
drive connected, and I can quicker open a big raw file in image editer
than I can count to three.
