Hi there,
I've just received a shitload of old mails on the list, from June to now. I already had all/ most of them at the time. Whats happened there? I notice in your brief explanation quoted above that you don't see any need for an apology for that, nor did you even comment on it until directly questioned. When it happens again, is there a chance that you would be able to trash the detritus locally, all at once, instead of letting everyone do that on his own copy? > 2011/11/10 Andreas T. If you have a problem with old mails, set up a filter in your mail client that automatically deals with this, if you have a problem with identical messages (don't see how you would be receiving mails that are stuck in the list filter though...), filter on message id, if you have a problem with the mailing list, just unsubscribe! Or why not volunteer as a mailing list as a moderator and contribute yourself to the community instead of demanding apologies from people who actually do?!?! -- Johnny _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I think trashing the detritus queue-side is not a good idea, as the moderator probably doesn't know whether you actually recieved the mail (?). Guessing here, though. At least you'd expect only mails in the queue that didn't get sent to the list, though I think this wasn't the case here, as I definetely remember having read some of those old mails before. -- Andreas Ege 24 The Birches Shobdon Herefordshire HR6 9NG GB Mobile: +44.(0)7526.315292 Tel.: +44.(0)1568.709166 http://spheniscid.net _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Yes, that's the universal all-purpose excuse. And "excuse" is what it is. > If you have a problem with old mails, set up a filter in your mail > client that automatically deals with this, if you have a problem with > identical messages (don't see how you would be receiving mails that > are stuck in the list filter though...), filter on message id, if > you have a problem with the mailing list, just unsubscribe! > > Or why not volunteer as a mailing list as a moderator and contribute > yourself to the community instead of demanding apologies from people > who actually do?!?! The matter is when you have multiple email accounts, if you don't post
with one which is subscribed to the list, the KDE list put it in queue... It happens to me sometime, and in most of the case, I repost with the right account, may be it's why you remember having reading some of these old messages. The good thing is, recently I do the mistake again (I use Opera with multi account, and didn't notice I not use the right account), but I received a mail to alert me and offer me to avoid this mail... as you have two emails adress one with spheniscid.net and an other with mymail.ch, may some of your message was not post directly in the list ? Hello,
> as you have two emails adress one with spheniscid.net and an other with mymail.ch, may some of your message was not post directly in the list ? Ooops. I had thought I had purged the mymail one out of my system. Just checked the phone, it's gone there. Check thunderbird later, and then probably check which mail address is registered at the list. Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. -- Andreas Ege 24 The Birches Shobdon HR6 9NG Mobile: +44.7526.315292 Phone: +44.1568.709166 Mail: [hidden email] http://spheniscid.net _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Deleted it there, but the irritating bit is why thunderbird uses the arcor identity anyway for answers on the list. And it definetely was using the spheniscid.net server to send the mail, as mymail.ch doesn't exist anymore (the service provider, and my mail address with it). I just can't seem to find a way to stop thunderbird from erratically using the arcor identity, short of deleting it, but I can't see any pattern in its use either. But I guess that would be another thread, on another list... -- Andreas Ege 24 The Birches Shobdon Herefordshire HR6 9NG GB Mobile: +44.(0)7526.315292 Tel.: +44.(0)1568.709166 http://spheniscid.net _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
I can't see the header of your mymail.ch mail this week since they're
relayed by dgikam list, but it seems they was relayed correctly... So may be it's by luck due to the fact admin list accept their quickly, or may you just have set in your actual account a "answer to" pointing mymail.ch adress ?
