No Image in slideshow and CRW question

Andreas Weigl
Hi

The question first: It seems there is no IPTC data in CRW (Canon Raw) files.
Is this a limitation of CRW or an application problem. If it is a limitation
of CRW, is it possible to store the keywords somewhere else?

And now the problem.
I've just installed the beta2. I do not see an image in slide show mode.
I've tried crw and jpg. It works fine in showfoto.

"About" tells me the following versions
digikam 0.9.2-beta2
kipi 0.1.5
kexiv2 0.1.5
kdcraw 0.1.0
dcraw 8.72
png 1.2.18
gphoto2 2.2.1

I'm using the http://gentoo.xwing.info overlay.

Here's an "emerge --info"
 Portage 2.1.2.7 (default-linux/x86/2007.0/desktop, gcc-4.1.2, glibc-2.5-r2,

Hi

The question first: It seems there is no IPTC data in CRW (Canon Raw) files.
Is this a limitation of CRW or an application problem.

CRW (and in general all RAW files are at this moment in read only. Next release of Exiv2 library (witch handle metadata from pictures) will provide TIFF files based writting mode. So, all RAW files based on TIFF file format will can be access in writting mode.

If it is a limitation
of CRW, is it possible to store the keywords somewhere else?

keywords == tags. So it's stored in Database.

And now the problem.
I've just installed the beta2. I do not see an image in slide show mode.
I've tried crw and jpg. It works fine in showfoto.

Already reported and fixed in svn

Regards

Gilles Caulier

Thanks.

Right, but only in the database. If the database is lost, all my tags are
lost. So I have to make sure, that I backup the database.

Cool, thanks.
