Hi fellow developers
Google Summer of Code 2013 has been officially announced by Google. Like every year, KDE has listed its project ideas on [1]. We need to move digiKam / kipi-plugins' projects from our internal page [2] to [1]. For that, I kindly request you finish the following tasks within 3-4 days on [2] so that I can make the transfer. - Addition of a new project (if any)
- Those people who have already added their project, make the project description in a format which is used in [1] so that it will be easy to transfer.
- Choose primary and secondary mentor after discussion with senior developers. Thanks! [

As lead mentor, i would to mentoring GMic project. If it's retained. I would to be also lead mentor to both model/view project. I can be secondary mentor to other place as it's need.
Note that only one project can be mentored by one lead mentor. There is no restriction for secondary mentor. Marcel,
Do you think that a good idea to propose Face Recognition project ? Victor, I need your feedback about my libkipi project, not yet listed in proposal list.

> Marcel, > > Do you think that a good idea to propose Face Recognition project ? Not with the generic title "improve Face recognition". We had that last year. We'd need someone coming up with a more specific suggestion, some proof of concept, any maybe a hint at reuse of the code in another part of KDE, I'd be happy. _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

Inge Wallin said this on kde-soc-mentor yesterday
"After a disappointing experience last year I for one will not take another student who hasn't at least done a little work beforehand and proven him/herself."
and I personally feel the same. If I recall who of our students has been successful, I believe almost all of them matched the description, and those who failed did not match. (this is personal opinion)
Marcel
