Lost toolbar after building from svn.

Bugzilla from cmaessen@casco.demon.nl
Building from svn serial 721574. No toolbar available in the digiKam
main window.

In the light table, the edit window and showfoto the toolbars are still
there.

Caspar.

Re: Lost toolbar after building from svn.

Arnd Baecker
presumably you left digikam in full-screen mode,
its a known issue
http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/digikam-users/2007-July/003939.html
Bug: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147771

Pressing CTRL-SHIFT-F twice should bring you the menu-bar back...

I'm aware off that issue, and tired this keystroke already.
Selecting "Configure Toolbars" in the Settings-menu gives me a window
without any available actions to select, and no current actions.

Hmm (would have been nice if you had mentioned that attempt - would
have saved me the time to dig that out again ;-)

No idea. Maybe you should remove digikams configuration file
and start again?
(Warning: you might loose some settings and also collections,
if I remember correctly ....)

Best, Arnd

Hi Caspar and Geoff,

I just updated current svn and cannot reproduce the problem...
So it looks like a different problem than
  http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147771
Unfortunately, I don't have any further idea  - sorry ...

Best, Arnd

Thanks anyway.

I did some updating recently of KDE3, qt3 and qt4. Is it possible that
it has something to do with that.

Maybe...
Geoff and Caspar:
which versions do you use (qt4 should not be relevant though)?
On debian etch I use: qt3: 3.3.7, KDE3: 3.5.5

Thanks, Arnd

Hi,

I have tried the suggested tips, but the toolbar stays lost. I use Suse 10.2

I could reproduce the problem, that means it is now fixed in SVN ;-)
There was one tag in the XML file too much, the xml structure was closed and
reading aborted. That removed you the toolbar, which is defined later in that
file.

And indeed it is. Thanks for your effort.

Great!  (Happy customers will surely be thankful ;-)
(Even if I had been able to reproduce the problem,
which for whatever reasons I wasn't, I would not have
been able to solve it ... ;-)

Anyway, http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147771
is still open, right?

Best, Arnd

I have done lots of updating this past week. Upgraded Ubuntu
distribution to 7.10 Gutsy Beta/RC. I suppose it could be related to
this.

Qt3 is "3.3.8really3.3.7-0ubuntu11" (not sure why they did this 3.3.8 thing?)
Qt4 is "4.3.2-0ubunutu2"
KDE is "3.5.7-1ubuntu15"

Re: Lost toolbar after building from svn.

Arnd Baecker
Hi Geoff,

thanks for the feed-back, Marcel has fixed the bug in current
svn - hope it will work for you as well.
If not, please report any problems here.

Thanks a lot,

Arnd
