This is the first time I have downloaded files from my memory card to
digikam v5. One completion of the download of some 300+ images nothing showed in the new folder created to contain them. I tried refresh but still nothing, so checked in dolphin and sure enough they were there in the correct folder. So I had to close digikam and restart it and then they were found when it started and I had to wait while the thumbnails were created. this never happened in V4. Is this a known issue? How do you read memory card ? Do you use the camera as card reader connected to computer ? If yes, which kind of camera do you use ? Do you use a separate memory card reader ? Image are taken with which camera ? In which format ? RAW ? JPEG ? This was using a card reader to import jpegs created on a Pentax DSLR,
all the thumbnails display OK in the import window but nothing in the new album once it had completed import and import window closed. The album created was in an existing album called 2016 and I created a new one within it called 07 and another within that called Ramsgate, this is the normal way I structure these things, all the correct folders were created and the images copied to the Ramsgate folder but nothing appeared until digikam was restarted. Interesting difference today. I had some more photos to import and
needed a new album so this was created this time before I did the import and the photos showed up OK without having to restart digikam. The difference last time when they failed to show was that I created the new album to import into as part of the import process using the dialog to decide where to import to. Could this difference explain the problem?
