Issue with rotating images vs thumbnails

Stuart T Rogers
I am running 4.14 on openSUSE Tumbleweed and have a big problem with
trying to rotate images as my camera does not set the relevant bit in exif.

When I select a thumbnail and click on the rotate icon it will rotate
the main image but not the thumbnail. If I go to preview image the main
image is rotated however the small image in the top strip is the same as
the main image but the thumbnail is not rotated.

That all sounds a bit messed up but basically there seems to be a
problem getting the thumbnail and main image in sync.

Anyone any ideas please as it is very frustrating.

Stuart

Re: Issue with rotating images vs thumbnails

Hi Stuart,

I am using digiKam 4.4.0 (Debian Jessie) and encounter this problems sometimes,
too. In those cases (main picture is rotated, but thumbnail is not rotated), I
press F5 (or "View" -> "Refresh" from the main menu). This will rebuild all
thumbnails in the current album.
This is no real solution, but at least some kind of workaround.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
