Just an FYI, I have run Digikam 1.1 on KDE 4.4 (Gentoo Linux), since the day 4.4 was available and have not had any problems at all.

Thanks for the data point Vern,
I think I started out not having any problems - just have a poor memory of it. Something changed. Are you running stable or unstable, AMD or 686 or what? Be nice to get Digikam working again. I took a look at the gentoo bugs list and see there is a bug with image rotation and possible image corruption too that I may be suffering from as I can't rotate images presently either. /jim On Sun, Feb 28, 2010 at 5:39 PM, Wilkins, Vern W <[hidden email]> wrote: Just an FYI, I have run Digikam 1.1 on KDE 4.4 (Gentoo Linux), since the day 4.4 was available and have not had any problems at all. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
I’m on Intel. I don’t have a global ~x86 but I
have tons in package.keywords, and compile many other things from ~x86. ‘CFLAGS=”-O2 -march=core2 –pipe –fomit-frame-pointer
–mmmx –msse –msse2 –msse3 –msse4.1” Everything remotely related to Digikam is from the unstable
tree. All my X stuff, all Qt stuff, all direct dependencies of Digikam.
If you want specific versions for anything just let me know. Vern From: Jim Dory

Thanks Vern,
I upgraded to kde sc 4.4.1 last night - then was able to work about an hour or longer on Digikam without a crash before finally going to the cotton locker (bed). So I'm hoping the bug that 4.4.1 fixed with Digikam was the bug affecting me and that now I'm good to go. Your CFLAGS are a bit more than mine: CFLAGS="-march=prescott -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" cheers, Jim On Wed, Mar 3, 2010 at 9:44 AM, Wilkins, Vern W <[hidden email]> wrote:
