No, it's not a settings in digiKam. It use generic desktop settings currently.

I come again ;) : do you think you could do something to enable to increase
caption text size in slideshow ?
And is it or could it be possible to use a keyboard shortcut or button to
display/hide it ?

This is how it looks like for me (Full HD TV on Windows 7 PC. From my couch
i can't read text) :

Hi,

There is not yet an option to customize the caption font size in Slideshow and Presentation plugins.

Please file a bug for this wish.
