Import image filename unique numbering

David Mills
Hi,

I have set up my own numbering for importing images.  I use

img-######[25234].[ext]{lower}

in the customize setting.

The trouble is that next time I import photos, it uses the same start number
so that my image names are not unique across albums/imports.

It would be great if the start number automatically stepped up to one greater
than the last imported photo.

e.g. if I import 10 photos using the above, it would be great if my next
import automatically changed to

img-######[25244].[ext]{lower}

So that I don't have to figure out myself (sometime later) which album I most
recently imported into and what was the highest numbered photo I imported.

Cheers,

David.

not an answer to your question, but maybe another numbering scheme would
help:

I recommend [date:yyyyMMdd-hhmmss]-####.[ext]{lower}

This way, you'll get reliable and sortable image names. The number at the
end starts at 0 for each import and allows naming (and sorting) of images
that were shot in the same second.

HTH,
Michael
