Hi, I try to find how could I render a raw file as the same way this image displays in the Album View ? Some settings or a file-ready-to-use. I am really frustrated when I compare a raw image in the Album View - color, contraste and what you want are very nice, and the result direct-to-display in the Modify mode - dirty colors. Yes, you are going to say a raw file can be modified and improved but I understand NOTHING to these techniques. I am not web designer and I don't want to learn some boring lessons "what is the light" " What is the color".
My goal : have a preset ready to click I could apply to raw files and find the same state I see in the Album View. Possible ? stan.

Album view is a preview of embeded JPEG from RAW ! It's not the RAW image data demosaiced. Use RAW Import from image editor to open RAW file and adjust all demosaicing settings. Tool will remember settings between session. For the moment, there is no way to set a RAW config for a collection of item. It's planed to do it with Batch Queue Manager, comming with 1.0.0 release Gilles Caulier _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Hi Gilles, thanks for the answer. I would a precision about the embeded jpeg. In the album view, why when I double click on the preview image, the embeded jpeg displays really nice for my eyes ? I suppose you apply some parameters to obtain the final result. Why could I (we) not reproduce the result easily ?
I asked some help to a friend of mine, who is a professional web designer, and he created a result very nearly the embeded jpeg but I am not satisfied. 2009/9/25 Gilles Caulier <[hidden email]> 2009/9/25 Stanislas Zeller <[hidden email]>: _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Because JPEG is post processed by your camera... like if you take a picture in JPEG, not in RAW Problem : JPEG is 8 bits color depth image. RAW image use full color depth from your camera sensor, as 12-16 bits. It's really better to post process without to lose image quality... Trying to reproduce all camera processing is a big puzzle... But i have the same problem previewing RAW files, and i supose digikam makes some raw decoding to show the preview (full size when double-click or the thumbnail) and if only was possible to select ALL the raws and proccess them to obtain jpegs same way digikam does to obtain the preview, could be very helpful
