I love digikam but the one thing which is missing for me is an easy
method to select photos from an album and copy them to a USB stick, which is not attached to digikam as a removeable album, to give to someone. I know I can select the photos and copy them and then paste into the stick using Dolphin but that means copying small numbers of files at a time as it uses memory. I may have quite a large number to copy and I feel it would be useful if such a plugin or batch option could be added to provide this function. I often need to copy maybe 100 or 200 photos to pass on to someone and emailing is not an option for that number of files. Have I missed anything? Is there already an easy way to do this which does not use copy/paste and does not need the USB stick added as an album? "Export -> Export to remote Computer" should do the trick. (Seriously misnamed option, as it seems to export to a directory on the /local/ computer) _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

It would be nice, though, to be able to point the batch queue to an external
folder, and not only to digikam albums. Is this possible? A contributor has already strated to implement it in a dedicated branch, but i don't take a look since few weeks in this code, due to a lots of work to follow with current 4.0.0-beta3. This is delayed for later at this moment... That is exactly what I needed and I agree it is a seriously misnamed
option. I suspect the word remote was intended to mean outside of digikam. I had noticed the plugin but to me that description means export to a network computer not a folder on the same computer. Of course in Linux you can mount a network folder and use that. May I suggest that this plugin is named more appropriately for its function.
