Hi, I have two questions regarding images that do not have an embedded ICC profile: 1. How can I assign an ICC profile to an image that does not have any embedded profile yet? And will DigiKam embed it in the file after assignment? 2. How does DigiKam do color management on images without embedded ICC profiles? Does is assume a particular profile (sRGB for instance)? When loading an image into CinePaint, you will be asked which profile to assign, if the image has none. Thanks for any explanations! Still todo. very simple to implement but time missing (:=))) Else, Color management plugin can do it, but it will transform color of course. Of course digiKam embed icc profile data in JPEG, TIFF or PNG. There is a section for that ouside image data. icc profile is a metadata ! > > 2. There is an option for that... > Does is assume a particular profile (sRGB for instance)? no, it just use your selection in setup. > When > loading an image into CinePaint, you will be asked which profile to > assign, if the image has none. yes, digiKam do it via a color correction dialog. It's wrong. You can do it (:=)))... In "Color Correction" dialog, just press "Embed Only" : http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/Screenshots/colorcorrectiondialog.png Marcel, give me an aspirin please (:=))))... Ah, now I get it. I is a bit unclear though. I would propose to try and make DigiKam more consistent with other graphics apps (Photoshop, CinePaint) by talking about 'convert' versus 'assign' in stead of 'apply' versus 'embed only'. Another item on my wishlist is a 'Assign Profile' menu entry in the 'Image' menu of DigiKam Editor. Both Photoshop and CinePaint have this, which is very convenient. The 'Assign Profile' entry in the menu could have a sub-menu containing a list of installed profiles. No new dialog needs to be made, just a menu entry. Shall I add wishlist items to bugzilla about this?
