I'm trying to export some images to Gallery2 and I'm not getting very
far. When I "Open" the Gallery I want to export to I get a pop-up box saying:- "Failed to login to remote gallery. Gallery URL probably incorrect. Do you want to try again" What should the Gallery URL be? I'm using:- http://home.isbd.net/gallery2/main.php Which is certainly the place where I log in to my Gallery2 installation normally but doesn't seem to be what Digikam wants. The place where I actually want to put this album is:- http://home.isbd.net/gallery2/main.php/v/sudbourne/ but if I use that Digikam appends a main.php and that doesn't work either. -- Chris Green _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I'm currently working on KDE4 "gallery export" porting and that is actually the "state of the art" ;) If you are speaking about last KDE3 release I really cannot help you. For it to work there need to be some plugins installed at the Gallery2 end of things, I *think* these are the "HTTP Auth" and the "Remote" plugins. Once I had these installed on Gallery2 it all worked. I'm not absolutely sure it needs the "HTTP Auth" plugin actually but it definitely needs the "Remote" plugin. -- Chris Green _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Hehe, that still doesn't say if you are using KDE3 or KDE4! but it's rather academic. > Anyway, after a certain amount of pain I have got it to work. Remote plugin definately as any remote interaction with a Gallery system needs this, including the Java Gallery remote shipped with Gallery. I think Andrea is correct in that a little hint somewhere is needed. Probably just a "Make sure you gallery is configured correctly" text somewhere (e.g. when adding a new gallery account) and a link to the kipi-plugins site, so details can be updated easily without having to change the code :) Col -- Colin Guthrie gmane(at)colin.guthr.ie http://colin.guthr.ie/ Day Job: Tribalogic Limited [http://www.tribalogic.net/] Open Source: Mandriva Linux Contributor [http://www.mandriva.com/] PulseAudio Hacker [http://www.pulseaudio.org/] Trac Hacker [http://trac.edgewall.org/] _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

There is also the issue of where Digikam's Export facilities are documented, I couldn't find it at all. -- Chris Green _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I've been mulling over ideas for years and although I made a start to it, I quickly realised that there may be better approaches. I've not done any actual coding on this for a long time, but I'm quite keen to take a look at Akonadi now it's out there, to see if ti can perhaps be used as a basis for personal media collections both locally and remotely. I've discussed this quite a lot in the past but I've not had enough time to fully drive it forward. Hopefully I'll find myself inspired on this topic again soon and free up some time to concentrate on it.... I seem to have a rather large number of project I want to do right now tho' :( Col -- Colin Guthrie gmane(at)colin.guthr.ie http://colin.guthr.ie/ Day Job: Tribalogic Limited [http://www.tribalogic.net/] Open Source: Mandriva Linux Contributor [http://www.mandriva.com/] PulseAudio Hacker [http://www.pulseaudio.org/] Trac Hacker [http://trac.edgewall.org/] _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
