Hi, I have digikam 1.7 I added some thousand files outside of digikam to the digikam-folder (digikam was not running at that moment). Now digikam doesn't start anymore. It says QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'ConnectionTest' is still in use, all queries will cease to work I even did a system restart. I havn't changed anything in the system. Still the same.. What can I do? Run kdebugdialog and turn on all digiKam debug space as included
kdcraw, kexiv2, kipi, kipiplugins, digiKam, etc. Now run digiKam again from a console and report all messages here... Bonjour Gilles, It works again... It just took 6 hours to start... I couldn't imagine that as I have a very fast computer (intel i7 with 16 GB Memory) and had almost nothing else running. I added 26 directories with 164 subdirectories, 7107 png files, 89 GB. I use SQLite database: would it be (much) faster if I switch to the use of MySQL (have mysql server running anyway all the time)? I use SQLite because the database file resides in the album tree thus making backup easy. With SQL I guess the database will be where all the other databases are (/var/lib/mysql/), no? thanks and kind regards Daniel On Sunday 30 January 2011 22.41:04, Gilles Caulier wrote: > Run kdebugdialog and turn on all digiKam debug space as included > kdcraw, kexiv2, kipi, kipiplugins, digiKam, etc. > > Now run digiKam again from a console and report all messages here... > > Gilles Caulier > > 2011/1/30 Daniel Bauer <[hidden email]>: > > Hi, > > > > I have digikam 1.7 > > > > I added some thousand files outside of digikam to the digikam-folder > > (digikam was not running at that moment). > > > > Now digikam doesn't start anymore. The database is hosted in the path that you have set in Database Config Dialog
The path must be in local harddrive, not in a network shared file system. I think that Mysql must be faster. But i'm surprised by your problem. I already manage a lots of photos on my computer, all RAW + JPEG + PNG, on reiserfs file system (not ext3/4). I remember some problems with ext4 and sqlite. Which journalized FS you use ? I use reiser fs. I don't have any raw files in digikam (use canons program to convert them in VirtualBox), only jpg, png, some xcf, some tiffs. When digikam finally appeared the album tree was empty and I had to enter the album tree again and wait some minutes until it was searched. Strange... Then I looked at some images (no changes) closed digikam, and it took again approx. 3 minutes to open (search for new images when starting applied). With search for new images desabled it takes about a second to open. My complete path contains 37721 image files, 875 subfolders, 200 GB. I change images between folders quite often, delete folders, add new ones... I'll try to switch to MySQL... have a nice day!
