Handbook

Bugzilla from andi.clemens@gmx.net
Hi,

is the handbook dead? I have the impression there isn't going on much anymore.
I'm looking at the current checkout and it is in most parts behind
digiKam-0.10.
I'd like to at least update all the screenshots, I extracted the ones in my
local git branch that need to be re-captured, some of them still show old KDE3
digiKam functions.
When we are going to release 1.0.0, we should at least have a newer visual
style in the handbook :-)
Adding actual content is the other part of course, but since I'm not a good
writer, I can not contribute in that way.

Well, until now, it's maintained by Gerhard Kulzer...

It would be really nice to have an updated handbook here for the 1.0.0
release.
It is far too old, but unfortunately I'm not a good writer (and I don't have
so much time either right now).
A lot of users are already complaining, for example:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/digikam-doc/+bug/381077

Sure, it is OpenSource and people need to spent their free time for it, but
most of the handbook content just doesn't fit anymore.

If no one has time to manage it at the moment, maybe we should start a blog
entry asking for help here?

Re: Handbook

Gilles Caulier-4
On Facebook i registered more than 1000 peoples from FOSS world. I can
post a request there with a link to digikam.org page explaining the
problem...
