Hi,
the capture method of gphoto2 will simply lock digiKam if you do the following (at least with my camera, Nikon D50): 1. Turn on your cam, plug it in 2. in PTP mode, select capture from CameraUI 3. Close your lens (cover it with your lens protection) 4. Now autofocus will fail and the camera will not return a status or something like that? 5. gp_camera_capture will stick in its loop, never returning again 6. we also can not cancel, since GPCamera is stuck in its event loop Can you confirm this for your camera model, too? If so we need to contact gphoto2, because this lockup is not avoidable. Andi,
Well, no... I cannot test anymore this feature, because when i have written this part my old Olympus camera work fine. Now, it's dead (:=))). For me this feature is rather useless (why take a picture while it is plugged
into the computer :-)), but I wanted to test CameraUI. Actually this method has two issues: 1. Capturing somewhat fails (image is taken, but not download-able) 2. Lockup of digiKam, we need to kill it (if gp_camera_capture does not return) Andi On Saturday 07 November 2009 11:07:06 Gilles Caulier wrote: > Andi, > > Well, no... Aha. why ?
Do you know Astro photo ? Nature photo ? Scientific photo ? Remote camera control is used in a lots of situation... And in the future wireless control will be avaialble... Please come with your camera at coding sprint. We will hack this
feature together. My Minolta camera is not in the list of supported gphoto2 model witch can be remote controled... Well I do this without carrying a PC around :D
This is why I have an remote control for my cam :) Well anyway... it doesn't work correctly and I reported a bug now in gphoto2's tracker.
