Fwd: LibRaw 0.7.0-Alpha3

Gilles Caulier-4
To all digiKam users,

I forward this message from Alex Tutubalin from LibRaw project to digiKam Mailing list.

I will backport this evening code from Libraw 0.7.0 to KDE4 in trunk svn branch (kdegraphics/libs/libkdcraw)

You will be able to test this new version of Libraw directly with digiKam for KDE4. You need to recompile all of course.

For more information about news features introduced with Libraw 0.7.0, please read changelog here :

http://www.libraw.org/download#changelog-beta

Thanks in avance for your feedback..

Best

Gilles Caulier

Hello,

http://www.libraw.org/data/LibRaw-0.7.0-a3.tar.gz

Full changelog: http://www.libraw.org/download#changelog-beta

In short:

 * I'm working on full data extraction from RAW files.  This beta is
focused mostly on Fujifilm and PhaseOne RAWs:
+ masked pixels extracted for these cameras
+ it is possible to fine tune RAW postprocessing for PhaseOne
+ some new metadata is avaliable for PhaseOne shots

 * There is no user-visible quality changes if dcraw_process() used
with one exception: I've fixed Coffin's bug  in PhaseOne black level
 subtraction code.
So all files, but PhaseOne, should be bitwise-equal with LibRaw 0.6-x
 version.

 * Fixed small bug in samples/dcraw_emu sample (processing of -s switch)

 * samples/unprocessed_raw is able to extract specified sub-image from
RAW (useable only for Fuji and Sinar 4-shot).

Also, one extra bit is added to filtration_mode parameter: you can turn
off tone curve processing by setting LIBRAW_FILTERING_NOPOSTPROCESS bit.

LIBRAW_FILTERING_AUTOMATIC should work as expected.

I'm interested in stability testing on large digiKam userbase. All my tests are
passed OK.

NOTE: internal data structures are changed. Full client code recompilation is
mandatory.
