I find it *very* annoying when a program displays an error message which
does not say what the problem is. I'm getting such messages with digiKam 2.5.0. I start digiKam as usual but it cannot access its database. No indication why! I try to create a new database, and get a message saying: "It was not possible to add a collection for the following paths" Again, no indication why. How am I to fix the problem if I don't know what it is? These problems are occurring with a collection that I've been using for years. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

And if you start it from a terminal, don't you get more meaningful messages?

I guess if sqlite does not supply meaningful information digiKam cannot forward it. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Is there any sort of sql log file to which something more meaningful is being sent? -- Brian Morrison _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I have this problem too. I see that this post is nearly a year old, but has there been any resolution to this?

I see the problem. I am using Debian "Legacy Linux" Wheezy, which has digiKam at version 2.6. Thank you for your help. :)
