External drive

Agustin Lobo
I'm about starting to use digikam now that the MacOSX pkg are
available (many thanks!)
I would like to know if I can set digikam so that the actual pictures
are kept on
an external drive while the database is kept on the internal drive. In this way
I assume I could search for a picture on the data base even if the external
drive were not connected (obviously I would need to connect the external drive
to retrieve the actual picture). Or have a collection of usb drives
for different albums.

Thanks

Agus

That's what I do: the database is in my home folder, and all my collections are on external drives.

Re: External drive

Agustin Lobo
and how do I have to define the settings for that? I've been looking in the manual and it is not
specified.
Thanks

Digikam settings:

a) Location of the database
b) Collections for folders

So in my "Linux" Digikam 4.10,
hopefully correctly translated from my German interface.
