I have the same - as far as I know it's a digikam bug, but the available version is very old, so it's not to be fixed. and it have nothing to do with piwigo. the problem, basically, is the way the rotation flag is used. you probably also notice that in digikam phots are sometime openned rotated and sometime not. Only the rotation in the editor is definitely recorded jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://www.youtube.com/user/jdddodinorg http://jdd.blip.tv/ _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

is "Frederic Coiffier" on this mailing list ?
I use Digikam 1.6 (and associated kipi-plugins), I'm not sure there have been some changes on this subject with Digikam 2.0 ? 2011/5/10 Gilles Caulier <[hidden email]> Look in source code : -- Sylvain _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
2011/5/10 Sylvain ZUCCA <[hidden email]> is "Frederic Coiffier" on this mailing list ? I'm not sure ... I used to "ping" with a MP on the Piwigo forum. Never had this problem, by the way.

Do you mean that it works for you when you export to Piwigo ? Your photos are rotated automaticaly in accordance with the exif data ?

Only the rotation in the editor is > > definitely recorded According to the experience I've made the orientation flag saved with the EXIF data leads into problems very often: Whenever you display the same image using different software or web services the image maybe shown correctly or with a wrong orientation, depending on whether the resulting software evaluates the orientation flag, or not. That's why I'm usually calling the menu function "Image --> Auto rotate/flip using EXIF In formation" on all images right after i have added new images to my DK collection. This makes sure the images are always shown correctly by web services and by programs used by other people to display my images. Make sure in the menu "Settings -> Configure Digikam" in the "Metadata"section the option "Set orientation flag to normal after rotate/flip" is checked. I never had to rotate my pictures manually. It's done automatically when I upload the photos from my memory card to Digikam; and I do nothing more when I export them to Piwigo.
Digikam version is 1.9 As for Piwigo, all my galeries are still in 2.1.2 version. 2011/5/10 Sylvain ZUCCA <[hidden email]> Do you mean that it works for you when you export to Piwigo ?
